Round 1 Color A: Make an adjustable ring, ch (chain) 1, *sc (single crochet) inside ring, ch 4, trpc4tog (triple crochet 4 together), ch 4*, work from * to * for a total of 4 times, ending with sl st (slip stitch) in first sc st to join round, tighten adjustable ring and weave in tail (4 trpc4tog clusters)

Round 2 Color A: continuing with color A, ch 1, sc in same sc st, *(4 trpc, ch 1, 4 trpc, ch 1, 4 trpc) all in top st of next cluster, sc in next sc st*, work from * to * for a total of 4 times, ending with sl st in first sc st to join round, ch 1, fasten off

Round 3 Color B: with color B sl st in first ch1 space (sp) to the right of any petal, ch 1, sc in same sp, *ch 4, bptrpc4tog (back post triple crochet 4 together), ch 4, sc in next ch1 sp, ch 4, bptrpc8tog, ch 4, sc in next ch1 sp*, work from * to * a total of 4 times, ending with a ch 4 and sl st in first sc to join round

Round 4 Color B: continuing with color B ch 1, sc in same st, *(4 trpc, ch 1, 4 trpc, ch 1, 4 trpc) all in top st of next cluster of 4 sts, sc in next sc st, (4 trpc, ch 1, 4 more trpc) all in eye of next cluster of 8 sts, sc in next sc st*, work from * to * for a total of 4 times, ending with sl st in first sc st to join round, ch 1, fasten off

At this point you would repeat this pattern to make a blanket, table cover, wash cloth or dish cloth or as large as you would need it to be simply by adding an additional cluster of 8 on each side per each subsequent round. After making the square as large as you would like it to be, continue to final round.

Final Round: with border color, sl st in first ch1 space (sp) to the right of any corner petal, ch 1, sc in same sp, *ch 4, bptrpc4tog (back post triple crochet 4 together), ch 4, sc in next ch1 sp, ch 4, bptrpc8tog, ch 4, sc in next ch1 sp, ch 4, bptrpc8tog, ch 4, sc in next ch1 sp*, work from * to * a total of 4 times, ending with a ch 4 and sl st in first sc to join round, fasten off, weave in all ends.
