Knot the End. (Crochet) - Tutorial 1 - Basic Granny Square.

Knot the End. (Crochet) – Tutorial 1 – Basic Granny Square.

Hi everyone. 🙂 This is Knot the End. (Crochet) bringing you my very 1st Tutorial – Basic Granny Square. ‘YAY!’ Now, it took me a minute to figure out exactly what Tutorial to create? There is so much out there. However, in order to bring a ‘Beginner’ level crochet artist further in their craft, this is the one item that you will need to know in order to start creating items.

Showing you a Basic Granny Square can lead to so many other things. Example…
*What are Granny Clusters?
*How to make Corners?
*Hiding Ends – Revisited
*Joining Squares – The Single Crochet, Mattress Stitch and Whip Stitch.
*Changing Colors and Adding on Yarn.
*Knots in your work.
*Adding Beads and Tassels to finished Work

This will further lead into other techniques such as…
*Symbols and Abbreviations.
*Extending Basic Stitches.
*Playing Yarn Chicken: How much Yarn is left in a Skein?
*Stitch Patterns – Creating them to suit You.
*Planning and Documenting your Project.

After all that is covered, I will feel confident to introduce you to Hats, Wraps and Sweaters.

What I eventually want you to do is to be able to do a Crochet Along (CAL) of an Afghan. When that time comes, I will instruct you on how much yarn you will need? Suggest what hook to use. And show you how to put it all together.

Now don’t get too excited, this being the very first afghan that we will do jointly means that this will be a simple Granny Square Afghan that may do a couple of color changes, boarders and finish with tassels. I will show you how to crochet in beads, just in case you want to add that to the project. Remember… this is my first time orchestrating this type of thing too. So, we will take our time. 🙂

Once everyone’s project is completed, you will be given the option of emailing me images of your results and I will happily showcase everyone’s work on a vid.

So, I guess you can say that this is my ‘How To…?’ Series that I put up notice about around May 16, 2022?

As for this vid, sit back and relax. Join in if you want. All are welcome. 🙂
