WATCH THE FULL DESIGN PROCESS:
Last summer I ran across a gorgeous Anthropologie sun hat that was covered in crochet flower granny squares across the body and brim. Immediately, I knew I wanted to attempt to recreate it, but I was a very beginner crocheter.
I’d made a few simple crochet sun hats before, so I decided to take the plunge and attempt to replicate this one. I eventually realized I wanted to make it my own and, while still inspired by the hat, I added more structure and my own colors to truly make it my own! This self-drafted crochet pattern took much experimentation, ripping back, frogging and re-crocheting, but all of the time and energy was worth it for the finished product!
